Letter from the chair
This year, we have a lot to celebrate.
We celebrate the 50th year of the Bessies and the best in Canadian film and television commercial advertising.
We also celebrate an incredible history and longstanding tradition of recognizing excellence in film production, storytelling and craft. Since 1963, the winners have always been exemplary examples of incredible detail, teamwork and vision, all flawlessly executed to produce the best work in Canada. In celebrating the last 50 years of the Bessies, we are really applauding the Canadian advertising and production community and the incredible body of work that has been produced collectively.
This year, after much deliberation, our judges selected the best of the best in Film, Digital and Craft categories. A big thank you to all of our judges for their time, passion, expertise and lively debate in selecting this year's winners - Work that is thoughtful and inspired, that will move you, make you laugh and feel inspired.
And as always, we also want to celebrate and put the spotlight on some of Canada's most talented individuals in our industry for their incredible contributions with the Bob Mann Award for Excellence in Post-Production, the Janet Woods Award for Best Producer, The Don Award for a Future Leader in the Film Industry, the Walter Bell award and the Spiess Award for Lifetime Achievement in Television Advertising.
On behalf of the TVB, I'd also like to thank our team of sponsors and partners who helped make the 50th anniversary extra special with their generous support and involvement.
A lot to celebrate and to be proud of. We hope you enjoy the work.
